Smt. Gayathri Dharshinee had her early education from Kumaran's School and Mahila Seva Samaj. Later she graduated in Science from NMKRV College, Bangalore. She was the athletic champion for her college and her interest in sports continues. She is a philanthropist who donates liberally to a number of orphanages in Bangalore. Gayathri hails from the renowned Obalappa family in Gandhi Bazaar, Bangalore.
In 2008 her son went to the USA for pursuing his Masters degree. It is then that she thought of having an international standard Engineering College in Bangalore itself to help the low and middle income group families, and the outcome was the formation of Sharada Education Trust (SET) to start Adarsha Institute of Technology, Bangalore (AIT-B), with able support from like minded philanthropists.
Dr. M.P. Raghu
Dr. M.P. Raghu obtained MBBS degree from University of Mysore and later obtained MS degree in ENT specialization from the same university. Then he had a stint with Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore and worked as a faculty member in M. S. Ramaiah Medical College Bangalore. Dr. Raghu then obtained DLO(RCS) and FRCS (Otolaryngology) degrees from Royal College of Surgeons, UK and completed M. Phil. (Clinical Medicine) from University of Cambridge. Dr. Raghu has the experience of doing Research work in the world renowned Sanger Institute, Cambridge as well as at Addenbrookes Hospital, also in Cambridge.
Presently, Dr. Raghu is a consultant in the famous Apollo hospitals as well as having his own clinic. He had been to Nepal to take care of victims of the earthquake years ago. He regularly conducts free health camps in several rural areas along with similar minded doctors.
Sri. M.P. Mukund
Sri. M.P. Mukund Ananda had his early education in St. Johns High school, Bangalore and high school education as well as Pre University education at Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala at Mysore. Later he completed B.E. (Civil) degree from M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore. Mukund hails from the renowned family of MM & Sons, Gandhinagar, Bangalore. His grandfather, father and uncles were all well known philanthropists who have donated very liberally to Ramakrishna missions and also constructed a Hostel in the heart of Bangalore city to help poor students from villages in their pursuit of collegiate education. Mr. Mukund has inherited all these qualities in him. He has gifted 10 acre prime property to SET to start AIT-B.
He is presently working as Secretary, SET and has plans to give full freeships to 10% of students admitted to AIT-B who are physically handicapped, or very poor. He also has ambitious plans to offer 50% scholarship to 20% of students who get admitted to AIT-B through Common Entrance Test (CET). He has contributed very generously to Ramakrishna missions and also has donated desks to a Government School.
By profession, Mukund is a Civil Engineer and has constructed a number of buildings in Bangalore. He is known for the excellent quality of construction. He is also a partner in MM Industrial Estate, which was the first private Industrial estate in Bangalore. He is by nature a simple person who believes in Gandhian way of life. He is also a Rotarian serving the society selflessly. He is a second generation Rotarian, as his father also was a Rotarian.
Smt. Nagarathna B.H.
Smt. Nagarathna B.H. is a Commerce graduate, who is responsible for the idea of starting an Engineering college under SET. She is the daughter of Dr. Hanumarangaiah who holds a Doctorate degree in Agricultural Sciences and has done a lot to the farming community in Karnataka. Nagarathna has taken to horticulture, and floriculture as hobbies. She voluntarily teaches at FAME, India (Foundation for Action, Motivation and Empowerment) - a school for the differently enabled children.
